My husband and I are working on the six step program for SANITY regarding adult children. We just finished the book and will soon be working on the action plan and presenting. I feel its important to be part of a support group for this issue and we are looking for one. Is this group still active or if not is there anyone else on this group who would like to get this group re-started?

I have just joined this group too and would be interested in being part of a re-started group. I am currently reading the book and just finished the assemble a support group chapter...so here I am. :). My current difficult relationship is with my mother however different perspectives would still be helpful I think. :)

I have just joined as I am rereading the book Setting Boundaries With Your Adult Children. I know of no support in the small area that I live. I would like to rekindle this group. My husband died 6 months ago and my youngest adult daughter moved home while my husband was ill to spend time with him. She is still here and as always has no direction, stays up all night sleeps all day. She has had three jobs in this short time and is currently not working. She has stolen from me, cost me money that I fronted her etc. etc. She has wrecked her dads truck which he gave her before he died. (Still in my name, soon to change). I have started to say no to her, which causes her to try laying the guilt trip on me. I know that I must be strong and continue to say no to her. Why is this so hard? Especially during this time of grief for both of us it is even harder.

IT is really hard to stop bailing out your kids. I am determined to stop throwing money at my son and hope that he will be responsible for himself. THis group was dormant for a long time. I am interested in restarting it too.

Our son was abusing K2 (herbal marijuana substitute with unknown chemicals added), and we had to cut him off. He wound up homeless, carless, and phoneless. He went to a shelter where he had to stay clean, and after 2 weeks he agreed to go for drug abuse counseling. We bailed his car out of the police lot and brought him to our house. His former employer took him back part-time. Our challenge now is to help him stay off drugs while he finds a job that will earn enough so he can take care of his car, which is sitting at his sister's. It helps that he is looking forward to a visit from his long-distance girlfriend.

I have been reading "Get Your Loved One Sober: Alternatives to Nagging, Pleading, and Threatening" while our son is spending the winter with us. He seems to be in recovery, but has not turned his life around yet and we live with suspicion. We hope by spring to find him another place to stay, at which point we will have to get the cigarette smoke out of our guest room!

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
