You can apply for ssdi only if you are not working . Once you are approved you may work part time and make 1100 per month without it affecting your ssdi. That may be a good plan for you if you find that you can no longer work due to your RA. Make sure you have lots of documentation of doctor visits noting diagnosis, treatments, meds. etc that you have tried as you must be able to show inability to work at all.
