Anyone on here young (under 30) and on disability?
I'm curious as to what you had to go through to get approved and how this affects your future.
I am soooo worried about my future employment if things progressively get worse from here. My husband and I both work full time, but if things stay the way they are, I am either going to lose my job or have to find a new job (paying MUCH less) at part time hours.
Neither of which I want to happen!
Do most people who are diagnosed young (I'm 27) still hold a full time job throughout their life? Does remission usually hit soon that can make it more bearable?

You can apply for ssdi only if you are not working . Once you are approved you may work part time and make 1100 per month without it affecting your ssdi. That may be a good plan for you if you find that you can no longer work due to your RA. Make sure you have lots of documentation of doctor visits noting diagnosis, treatments, meds. etc that you have tried as you must be able to show inability to work at all. You may appeal the denial of benefits many times if you and your doctor can support disability . Good luck and I hope you will be able to get what you need to help you in your suffering. God bless
