* folks with mild RA symptoms seem to benefit from changes in diet or adding supplements/herbs/kefir/fish oil/acupuncture, etc.
* folks with moderate to severe RA symptoms don't seem to benefit enough to justify use of alternative medicine alone. Use of supplements like fish oil or change of diet may help, but typically when implemented with other "mainstream" meds like prednisone, methotrexate or biologics.
BTW, I fall into the second category, have experimented with alternatives, and always find myself returning to my prescriptions. The only thing I haven't tried is bee-sting therapy - need to find someone who's willing to risk the legal liability involved.
The articles about candida yeast are interesting and how the accumulation could cause RA. I am back on meds again,Arava (just started) but I am going to work super hard to take out almost all sugar,carbs. I already have taken out dairy and most sugar. It's extremely hard to take out the breads,cookies,etc.
