What to do what to do.

I'm a complete wreck y'all last night I tried to get up to go in the kitchen. I took 2 steps and couldn't put any weight on my hip at all!! I had to hoist myself up the stairs on my bum crawl to the bathroom very gingerly and use crutches to get to bed Had an Un restful nights sleep. becuz of the use of cane and crutches and stuff my elbows and shoulders are hurting I have to see the back surgeon on the22 to see if I need more surgery if not I go ahead with a toe joint replacement but I can't start orencia till all surgeries are over with. I truly don't kno how I'm gonna hang in there I'm in tears my life is consisting of sitting on the couch between my back and hips. And going up and down the stairs with only one leg is really hurting my knee. Grrrr!!!!

any way to get a cortisone injection into your hip? I've not had one there but I bet it would help.

yikes kimbereley ...dont cry ...can you do what bcatz said and get a cortisone shot ??? hope you feel better ....

Well I have had them done in my knees ANC both times it caused a cortisone flare VERY painful! But also I have asked about it just out of desperation and the orthopedic dr said its very big procedure they have to put you to sleep they have to use guided imaging risk of bone infection bla bla bla anyway he disnt act like it was something he would want to do I have had trouble with my hips for quite a while I have had MRI they say its clear they thought mayb necrosis bcuz of many years if prednisone but I guess it's not that it never has hurt this bad like a knife has been driven up through my hip and then I'm walking on it. The orthopedist says he thinks prob the RA but I don't kno. If I have had the flares from other shots do you guys think its still something I should pursue ? Any one else have it done? I should say too its in my groin area on the inside of my hip not the outside.

ohh i cant say im allergic to steroids ..sorry kimberley ...sorry you are hurting so much ..cotisone is a steroid rite ? hmmmm do yu have any moist heat like a moist heat heating pad or one of those bean baggy heat up things ? buckwheat bags ? you are probably salon pas out since you dont want to wrap your entire self in them ..can you carefully get into a hot bath and soak a little ..temporary but might help for now hope you feel better ..maybe just call the dr to see ..sounds like you have to much on your plate rite now ...sorry for that :(

Gosh I'm sorry. That's awful to be in so much pain.
You mention your back, could that be contributing in any way to the hip pain?
As far as the shots that's a big decision. My husband just had one in his ankle. With the use of X-ray & it did wonders for him but each person is different & he does not have RA.
I wonder about a second opinion on that. If this pain continues if your not already maybe looking into pain management. A good PM knows much more about injections & such. Mine has been my saving grace. With our him I would not have a life.

Gosh they don't think it's my back becuz it's both hips they play tag team alot occasionally they both want in on the game it's my thoracic spine. I don't even know what to think the rhuemy found compression in thoracic spine on dexa scan every thing I have looked up about it says compresion fracture. I don't kno I already had surgery for thoracic herniated disk so I don't kno but I will ask my surgeon next week about pain management and my hips. Thanks for the impit

Kimberley, I am so sorry about what is going on with you. And through all this you can still have such a nice smile. I hope you get some relief soon. I think now is the time to get pain management involved. I don't know how you endured this for this long. I don't do well with a lot of pain as you can see with me c/o the headache. My issues are minute to what you are going through. I am so sorry and hope you are going to be getting some relief soon.
