You mention your back, could that be contributing in any way to the hip pain?
As far as the shots that's a big decision. My husband just had one in his ankle. With the use of X-ray & it did wonders for him but each person is different & he does not have RA.
I wonder about a second opinion on that. If this pain continues if your not already maybe looking into pain management. A good PM knows much more about injections & such. Mine has been my saving grace. With our him I would not have a life.
