Voltaren vs Naproxen

In the past, i have taken mobic for inflammation but got no relief. I was then put on Naproxen and still have bad inflammation. My mother-in-law was able to give me a tube of voltaren gel and it was wonderful. I am out now and when I asked the clinic about the gel I found out it should not be used with naproxen. I thought it might would be great to changeover to Voltaren pills as well as the gel.
I go to the doctor Tues. and hoped to get feedback from you before hand. Thank you in advance. Terri

I'm fairly sure you can use the Voltaren gel with the Naproxen/Voltaren tablets.

I found Diclofenac (Voltaren) to work really well for my joints but I felt really sick and dizzy on it. Naproxen didn't do much and it gave me GERD.

Mobic worked the best for me, but then it started making me sick.

Ask your doctor if you can try a few different ones. I've found that you have to be on it 2-3 weeks before you notice the full effects.

Voltaren can be very hard on the liver, so if you take another med with it that also has a liver warning, you need to be cautious. That's probably why the people at the clinic said not to take naproxen and Voltaren together.

I stopped using Voltaren when a new warning came out a couple of years ago -- but I think I was also taking naproxen and mtx at the time, so I thought it best not to overload my liver with so many harsh drugs.
