So I inquired a while back on my choking on saliva, sometimes my food doesn't swallow but stops, and I need a drink to finish swallowing.
Now. Now I go slightly hoarse about three times a day for the last 4-5 days. I talk a lot during the day, and out of nowhere, I get hoarse sounding. It fades fairly quickly, then occurs again two or so more times.
I don't have an infection, not sick. No allergies, sniffles, and hardly ever have lost my voice even while I was in my RA free days.
Does this sound like cricoarytenoid joint involvement of RA? Since my voice comes and goes daily often, wasn't sure if it sounded like this or not. Anyone educated on this vocal involvement with RA or have personal experience to share? Will talk to rheumy 3/20 at my next appointment. Thx all!

I get the hoarseness very often.
Since I have a cervical fusion it confuses me. As I've had sharp pains deep in the throat that are really hard to describe. So I've heard the hardware can irritate the cords. Hard to really know what's causing what. Then the Sjogrens.
Choking when swallowing to & lump in the throat feeling, like something's stuck.
Comes & goes but could not imagine this being an every day thing. For that matter if it occurred on a regular basis it would drive me a wee bit crazy.
So much we don't realize can be linked to RA.

If you haven't, it's probably RA related. If you have, it could be a variety of things that when detected quickly, can be treated well.
