I had a UTI I wasn't sure of for over 2 months. I went on one round of anti-biotics and within a week after treatment I felt like it had returned. Sure enough, apparently we didn't get all of the infection so I start back on another different anti-biotic today. I insisted that my Dr. check me again in one week to make sure it's gone. As much as I hate peeing in a cup (and all over my hand) it's better than this.
In the meantime I can't take the Enbrel or the MTX. I did take MTX yesterday because I was due and didn't have the test results back yet.
I'm a little concerned about being off both meds for 3-4 weeks or more and RA pain returning.
I hope this will resolve this issue. Since I don't have the "normal" UTI symptoms I let this go longer than I should have initially.
Ladies, don't ignore any urinary tract symptoms. Mine was just a foul odor once in awhile and then low back ache and fatigue. Nothing alarming but with the compromised immune system it could have been much worse for me.

My rheumy did have me stop my RA meds while I'm on the anti-biotics.
Thanks for the great information, I appreciate it. I will keep it in mind when I go in for the follow up test next week.
Sometimes, a much longer dose is needed.
