Hopefully you will get some interim relief with the prednisone -- even though it will not treat the cause of RA or prevent damage, if it can give you some relief at this time then it will be valuable. RA medications take a while to take effect, so the pain in the meantime can be so hard to deal with and make you feel depressed, exhausted, and hopeless. A lot of comments (on this post and the other post) gave great advice on ways to hopefully give you some peace of mind to help you get through this waiting for diagnosis and treatment.
