unbearable pain

I  started a new job 2 months ago and by the second week my hands and feet swelled up, went to the er got prednisone which helped once off it i was in pain again now wirh knee hands and feet got more prednisone it helped off it now and suffering i can't see dr because my insurance doesn't start til june i am ready to give up the pain is unbearable

Hi. Welcome. I'm so sorry you can't see a doctor till June. Who is prescribing the prednisone? Do you mean that you cannot see a rheumatologist till June? You may just have to stay on the prednisone till then.

I think most of us understand Betti. Once on the correct meds it'll ease then this pain will become a distant memory. It will get better! For right now, Frankincense as a topical on joints and tendons will help. I don't know your other medical conditions but if you can eats as much pineapple and walnuts as you can because they are both excellent natural anti-inflamms. I also suggest immediately eliminating all potato, tomato, red & green pepper (check for paprika, label may just say natural spice), egg plant, blueberries, pimento, cranberry.....look up "nightshades and RA" and see why. It'll take a few days up to two weeks depending on your weight and metabolism. If you do the diet, a tablespoon of black cherry juice daily helps to get your system cleaned. Lots of water.

Other topical creams include Aspercream, which works for me. And ginger and Tumeric are well-known natural ani-inflams.

thank you all my dr wouldn't prescribe me prednisone I was in terrible pain yesterday but he got me in to a pain specialist today who is giving me prednisone til june 1 thankfully. June 1st we start all tests. I appreciate everyone's kind words

Sorry you are having pain and have to wait so long for some answers.
Hopefully you will get some interim relief with the prednisone -- even though it will not treat the cause of RA or prevent damage, if it can give you some relief at this time then it will be valuable. RA medications take a while to take effect, so the pain in the meantime can be so hard to deal with and make you feel depressed, exhausted, and hopeless. A lot of comments (on this post and the other post) gave great advice on ways to hopefully give you some peace of mind to help you get through this waiting for diagnosis and treatment.
