I keep telling myself god does not give us more than we can handle. I have been crying all afternoon so had a meeting with my boss today who out of the blue informs that our accountant who I referred to our company lol thinks he can do my job for a lot less. This is the same man that said to me a month ago well hopefully you can get your illness undercontrol so you will have more time for your job. What?? I have never had a work issue with not getting my job done. I have been there five years and have only received raises. We are a small company and I am the operations manager and my boss has not systems in place which I am always trying to change. An HR nightmare. So then after this conversation my boss says well we can look at some other lines of business and see if you can create them so we can keep you especially with your illness and all. What? What does my RA have to do with anything. It has not affected my job. So I guess I will might be unemployed soon. So I have a lot to think about. I stayed there so long because we were a small company and I had flexibility with my small kids to be there for them. I am can't sleep so I am going to lick my wounds. Of course we have 8 employees so probably have no protection under the Americans with Disability Act. Errrrr
I left my job in march and I spent a year asking for a reasonabble accommodatation and they did not help me. I worked former local government with 5000 employees and my request was to adjust and reduce my hours...hardly no cost to them, but after talking to 8 or 10 labor attorneys there was nothing that they could do. I had documentation and a great work record...but it was difficult to get an attorney to help.

It all caused me a lot of pain but I've worked through it now. I wish you the best as you deal with this. I'm not sure about the whole legal side of it, so can't offer advice there.

Please make sure you take some time on a daily basis, for you. Especially when we aren't well, we often neglect our own mental well being. Which turns and bites us in the bum!
