I get swelling under the big toe & 2 following on a regular basis. I'm not sure about the "knot" though. I find when that swells it interferes with the toes moving in a normal way. As this area takes the impact more so while on our feet.
I'm curious to see if this is a problem for others.
A good question for your next appointment.

I also have swelling (no knot though) and am in a lot of pain under the pinkie toes and big toes.
I soak my feet every night in hot water with lavender Epsom salts. It doesn't do much for the swelling but lessens the pain for a while and generally makes my feet feel better. In terms of shoes, I found a pair of Sketchers that has memory foam inserts, those are quite nice.
I hope you find what works for your feet soon.

I have had plantar fasciitis where the tendon swells on the bottom of the foot & it feels like walking on marbles. No lumps or knots though but it feels like it.
I hope you get some relief. Its miserable not being able to wear shoes and/or it hurts to walk. I'm dealing with that myself lately.
I'm awful at not wanting to add to my list of doctors but sure will kerp in mind.
It's strange thing to have swelling on the bottom of the feet enough to prevent the toes from bending properly.
Looks like it may be a more common occurrence.
I wondered about nodule but seems strange place for one. Yet RA is a strange unpredictable disease.
