So very sorry to hear this. I do understand totally! This year's I've had several instances where I had to get out of the Mtx/ meloxicam routine and immediately went into flares. I am almost back on schedule after a minor surgery last week. Two weeks prior to it I couldn't take Meloxicam for inflammation, pathetic. I hate being dependent on the drugs but they seem to be doing the job. Have you been on methotrexate? Vent anytime buddy, we all get it, and don't think poorly about you for doing it. Started out on MTX and it did a number on me... Made me sick, lost a lot of weight. Im leaving Friday for a short trip to Gulf Shores Ala. I am so with you granda2one. I was started on humira and last night while trying to get some sleep I was in so much pain I thought about quitting all meds. Like u nothing seems to work. Tried methotrexate got an infection. Tried Arava didnt help one bit. I am on prednisone and when ever I try to cut the dose I am in so much pain I to want to quit. I hope you find relief and that you can enjoy your vacation. We all feel your pain I know I did last night and today and now off to work. I live in Minnesota and am afraid of the winter. Keep your chin up

This is so tough sometimes - I really hope that your trip is relaxing and uneventful (RA wise) -

From one grandpa to another: my grandson comes over about 3 times a week - and sleeps over at least once a week - he seems to be the best medicine for me - we have so much fun that he keeps my mind off the pain and stiffness -

Hi Grandpa2one, Sure hope you can get some relief soon... and taking a vacation might be a very good thing.
About Methotraxate it made me so very sick so my doctor suggested shot form... and about the 2nd or 3rd shot I was doing so much better with not being so sick wonder if that is something you can try. I see you just started Humira and so did I. I am actually feeling worse since I started it. Only have had 2 shots. Was bad enough before but now having more pain and stiffness with some other side effects. So maybe if we both hang in there it will get some better after our systems get use to it. I am sure praying that it gets better!!!

I'm so sorry. It's rough when you feel you have no control.
It's a waiting game with these injections.
I don't know the safety for steroid shots but if it gets to be to much perhaps inquiring about a jump start ( so to speak) with you steroids. You seem to get some relief from the injection during your ER trip.
There's a steroid mentioned here in another post other then Prednisone. I wonder if trying the other would make a difference? I've rejected my latest treatment also now it's informing my doctor. I do feel for you.
Let's pray Humira kicks in & does it's job.
In the mean time vent away. After all if anyone understands the frustration we do.
