Sick from family or Remicade treatment?

OK...this is frustrating! I am sick now...sore throat, cough, sinus...my sister came down with her son over Thanksgiving and he had the flu. He was coughing the entire time. Then she started getting sick the day before they left. I prayed and washed my hands and tried to remain calm. Monday I had my Remicade infusion...yesterday I started feeling bad and today my throat is killing me, I'm coughing and my lungs feel as if they could explode! Last time I got my Remicade I got sick too but I was working at the time and my co-worker had been sick. I ended up in bed for 2 days. Anyway...thanks for listening. I'm hoping that I'm not going to feel like this every time I get my infusion because it's been increased to every 4 weeks!

Ive been having same problem here and have been asking myself that question too ! Im beginning to think its from the mtx shots cuz I get a sore throat or sinis infection or what seems to be cold like symptoms after every shot.it starts clearing up and its time for an
nother shot. I thought in the beginning it was from my Grandkids passing bugs from school but now Im sure its the meds.I hope you feel better soon ! Hugs and prayers !! Tina

I'm on enbrel injections 2 weeks ago had an intestinal flu for a week and this week I've gotting a head cold. I'm thinking it's just the season. I raise school age grand kids and they've been sick too. My RA is under control but keep getting sick. This is not good.

In the 2 plus years that I have been taking Remicade I don't think the actual drug has made me sick, but for the first year or so the combination of Remicade and MTX certainly opened the door for every URI that came along. I have since quit the mtx and my personal feelings is that over time I have developed a little bit of an immune system because since last Jan I have been relatively healthy. I work in a clinic so I am exposed to everything daily, I take my vitamins, wash my hands a lot, and keep my hands away from my eyes. So far here in Kansas there has only been one confirmed case of influenza but we are just getting into the season. Last Jan I had influenza and being a loving husband gave it to my wife :-) I am keeping my fingers crossed that this year the flu shot and lady luck will keep me free of infections. Bless you! Raising your grandkids! I can't imagine feeling this way and having small ones I know that a lot of people here do though. It is hard though being sick all the time....I'm sick of it!!

I don't take remicade but I noticed I've been feeling a little stuffy since Thanksgiving as well. My cousin bought his sick 1 year old for some reason rather than leaving him home with his Mom. My RA seems to be under control too-thereby making my immune system even lower. Trade one thing for another I guess.
