I have 2 sisters, one with hashimotos, one healthy. I have hashis, migraines, narcolepsy, raynauds, rheumatoid arthritis, pcos. I will also say though that my life has been much harder, more stressful and I wonder I had an easier path if things would be different. It is what it is.

I have 3 sisters, two of them with diabetes and one with fibromyalgia. Both parents are diabetic, and 3 grandparents diabetic. Diabetes was what I expected, and instead ended up with MG and Rheumatoid Arthritis [AS]. MG and RA were totally unheard of in our family until me. My health began to go nuts after a fall which fractured my neck and another personal trauma that caused a lot of grief at the time.

I have 10 siblings, with me the youngest.
One older sister with RA, although she was DXed around 20 I believe.
Shes now in her later 60s.
Had a grandparent with RA also & an Aunt with Lupus.
To many cousins to know what everyone else may have.
There is no doubt in my mind stress can make us more susceptible.
From the time I was diagnosed I wondered how much of a role stress may have played.
Will never know for sure but I would do things a little different If I could go back, heck I'd do things a lot different.
It could be worse right.

i have one sister who is healthy. none of my biological relatives have ra, though my mom's sister has some sort of autoimmune disease (they're still trying to figure out exactly what it is - i think right now they've landed on fibromyalgia), and i have an aunt on my dad's side who isn't biologically related to me who also has ra.

I have a half sister who is healthy as far as I know. My full sister has pcos and bipolar disorder. She is just starting to have symptoms of arthritis in a knee and shoulder and I'm pushing her to go to the doctor and confirm what's going on. My mother has arthritis in both hips, but has not been told it's anything other than OA. For right now I am the only one in my immediate family with RA. I do have a second cousin with RA though, and my grandmother has fibromyalgia.

I'm an only child, but I have two female first cousins (the only two) who both have RA and were dx'ed in their early 30s (I was dx'ed at 35). My mother also has it (dx'ed in her late 60s). She has no female relatives other than my grandmother, who was healthy as a horse and lived until 102, My other grandmother, though, died in her late 80s extremely debilitated by what was described to me as arthritis, but in retrospect looked like RA to me.

Yeah, I'd say there's probably a genetic link!

I have 2 bros. neither has r.a. or o.a. I have both, Neither has heart problems.. I do... There is no one going back to 1905 that had r.a. on either side of the family... But had a ton of heart and cancer...so o.a. and r.a. are o.k. by me...better than cancer..and heart problem is taken care of for now.

I'm the youngest of four and the only one with autoimmune so far.
My sister ten years older then me just started having problems with her feet when she gets up in the morning and after a nap she complains that her feet hurt, but after she is up a little while it goes away. She has not been diagnosed with RA, but looks like it could be to me.

2sisters 1brother. Sister &I all have thyroid, youngest has battled many forms of arthritis. Brother seemed to have escaped, but is alcoholic so who would know what he has. Curiously 4 of 5 paternal aunts had RA and have several cousin's who have autoimmune diseases and some of their children. My daughter has dealt with autoimmune issues all of her life. I am the youngest of 4 siblings. I was dxd. at age 3 with Type 1 Diabetes(autoimmune disease), my 2 brothers were also dxd. with Type 1 at age 4, before me. I've had RA since age 24, Raynauds and other conditions like OA and Asthma.

I know from his symptoms(swollen, red knuckles, swollen,painful knees) that one of my brothers had RA at age 44 but refused to get dxd. My sister was dxd. with RA at age 50. Both of my brothers died due to complications of Diabetes at ages 49 and 52.

I dxd. my Dad with RA when he was 68. My Mom has OA and Osteporosis. I know some of my 22 aunts /uncles, 63 cousins have RA and some have Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes and Celiac disease. There are 2 types of cancers and heart disease also in the family.

I have one brother and he has never had anything more major than seasonal allergies and a bone spur on his ankle (from being a catcher for several years) . . . .
I have had numerous issues throughout my life. I tell my mom that I am the lemon . . .
My mom is type I diabetic and her dad had Graves' Disease and antimalarial induced lupus (he was a Pacific Rim Veteran and had relapsing malaria from his tour).
My mom's twin sister has nothing, nor do her two brothers (one brother developed testicular cancer, but had a history of trauma to that testicle in a bicycle accident as a kid; after successful treatment over 30 years ago he has not had any other issues).

Also, none of my maternal cousins have autoimmune issues to date.
I have had chronic migraines and now inflammatory arthritis.
