Going to my PCP this afternoon, but pretty sure I have freakin shingles. It is a band rash across my left side. Not on immunosuppressants, just doxycycline and ceftin so this is likely just due to autoimmunity. Birthday is next week. so I guess this is an early present. Maybe this means I wont get it when I am older. Hope this comment doesn't offend anyone, but am just getting a head start on what are stereotypically problems for later in life. Would have preferred grey hair or something...rather than ra and shingles, I must say.

You've mentioned being stressed out and with RA, stress can trigger all kinds of lovely things. I'm so sorry you have it. Get your doc to give you lyrica along with the prednisone and anti-viral you'll get. It made a world of difference to me.
If you're not immunosuppressed you may actually heal faster since your immune system now has something else to focus on.

I hope it goes away fairly quickly, but I'm afraid you're looking at about two weeks. My heart goes out to you....it was awful for me.
