You've mentioned being stressed out and with RA, stress can trigger all kinds of lovely things. I'm so sorry you have it. Get your doc to give you lyrica along with the prednisone and anti-viral you'll get. It made a world of difference to me.
If you're not immunosuppressed you may actually heal faster since your immune system now has something else to focus on.

In any case, it went away in about 2 weeks.
So you are not alone!
I hope it goes away fairly quickly, but I'm afraid you're looking at about two weeks. My heart goes out to you....it was awful for me.
