I live in Florida and my local fire rescue takes them. It is a service the county provides to keep them out of landfills. Try that. In most states it is illegal to put it in the regular garbage. If they don't know, call a local councilman to get help. There should be a program, but it may be hard to find. Diabetics do it, so it can't be that hard. Worst case, call a local endocrinologist and ask how they have their patients dispose of insulin needles and glucose monitoring needles. AARP should also know since more older adults become diabetic.

call your town's health department nurse (in my small town she only works 5 hours but it's better than nothing). she had a list of disoposal sites.

I have also over the years called: enbrel or hummira or orencia and they have sent return bio hazard boxes postage paid for for me to put the container site in there when I could not get to a local site. It was wicked easy and self explanatory. But takes 2 weeks to get the return box. easy to follow shove it in and mail.

and your post office mails it back to the million dollar manufacturer under bio hazard regs it's easy peasy.

Humira has a free sharps disposal program. That's what you're taking, right?

If you call 1-800-4HUMIRA, they'll arrange to send you a new container, which comes in a box that you can ship back with your full container.

I take mine to the Doc's office, either RA or GP.

My pharmacy takes them. But, I am in Canada,so that might not apply to you!

Call local hospitals. That's where I brought mine.
