Setback after car wreck

A little discouraged lately. I was in a car accident 5 weeks ago and although my foot was badly bruised, no broken bones or lacerations, my muscles are still revolting! Also my golfers elbow has returned with a vengeance. Sitting here currently with ice on my back and elbow on a nice summer day :-( I never have any luck treating the tendonitis with steroids, physical therapy, iontophoresis etc and only get relief with an injection. Just had it injected about 8 months ago and the subcutaneous fat was just starting to fill back in that had shrunk away. Oh well, guess I'd rather have a funny looking arm than a sore useless one!

So sorry you are feeling so bad... I know car accidents can cause a body lots of pain for a long while. Sometimes I think that broken bones would be better... because the muscles and tendons seem to take longer to heal then the bones. Hope you get to feeling better soon.

Both of your posts here (medicmom and carrottop) are so relevant to me right now as well! I can't believe it! I was just lying on the couch feeling depressed because my own tendons (or whatever) have been killing me in my left leg ever since I took a (too) long walk with my granddaughter a couple of weeks ago. Someone here told me last week that it may be bursitis. After reading up on that, I'm pretty sure that's what it is. The last time this happened, it hurt for six months, so I feel pretty frustrated at the setback. I was doing pretty good up until this.

Sometimes I feel like my body must be way older than it should be at my age due to my RA. A normal 60 year old could walk around for a couple of hours at a park, but when I do it, you would think I had asked a 90 year old body to do it!

Anyway, I know this wasn't supposed to be about me. I just wanted you (both) to know that I completely understand how you are feeling and where you are coming from on this.

Thanks for your well wishes carrottop :-) Trooper, these posts are never about "us" as one person, we ALL can relate to nearly every post that's here so you can vent all you want! I have had right hip bursitis for over 2 yeas now and the injections worked beautifully for about 3 months the first year but they just don't work anymore. the last one I even had done under fluoroscopic guidance so they could make sure they were injecting exactly where it needed to be. Some days I don't think about it much although I limp with it and other days I get very frustrated wondering if it will be like this forever. Just being able to talk about it helps though. I hope you both have a wonderful Lord's day :-)

Completely understand everyone. I also get injections for hip bursitis, and I have been battling golfer's elbow for a year now. It can be very painful. I agree that ice is about the only thing that helps me.

I do understand and hope that you get to "normal" faster than i did. Apr 15, 2014, sitting still at a red light and was slammed from the rear by a van doing 40 mph. Slammed and pinned me to a Toyota SUV in front of me so it was like two collisions at once. At the time of the accident I was doing quite well. It took months and months for my RA to calm after that.
