I have heard this as well but it might depend on the insurance u have... I love my Conair spa bath mat. I can't do without it in the winter. I got it on line. I like hot tubs but the chemicals make me itch.... so I use the Conair mat. I would love to have a tub with jets....but with those i couldn't use the aromatherapy oils and sea salts in the water....those are so helpful too.

Our master bedroom only has a shower, so I have to use the kids' bathroom to take a bath. I love baths!! But for me it involves moving all of their random bath stuff out of the way and wiping it down BIG time before getting in, lol.

I'm going to have to look into this!

Hey Bluedog... the mat that i use is like the ones here on eBay. The first one i got i was given as a gift. They bought it at Wal-Mart. I wore that one out. The next one i bought was on eBay. I've used them for years and like them better than a hot tub bc i can add essential oils and healing salts. And i can't handle the chemicals in a hot tub and don't want to maintain one. But spas and hot tubs are awesome.

I have never spent more than $50 for one....i see that some are outrageous. I can't go thru winter without one. Good luck!!!

This looks great. I actually have a spa tub and I am in it every night. So I would say the project id definitely worth it.

Also I tried a few years back to go through my insurance to pay for the whirlpool tub I had placed in and it was a no go. I am with Bluedogs2. If it works get three I will take one two.

You can't get it covered on insurance but if a dr. writes it as a prescription, you won't pay taxes on it once you meet the 10% deductible.

So, if your adjusted gross is say, $50,000, then anything medical including HEPA air conditioners, beds, etc would be tax exempt AFTER you pay the first $5000. That is all.
Still, if you regularly pay the first 10% and have a kid with allergies and buy a special A/C unit or a spa for the RA...if that costs say, $10000, you would potentially save hundreds in taxes.

I have bought several hot tubs and just recently bought a new one. My doctor wrote me a prescription for "Hydrotherapy". Doctors are hesitant to write Rx for hot tubs. You present the Rx to your hot tub dealer and they waive the taxes. The dealer handles all related paper work. At least, that is the way it is done in Houston. However, if you order your tub on line you won't have to pay taxes anyway. I ordered my new tub online. I don't think insurance companies will pay for hot tubs.
