Maybe others can tell you for sure about it, but I get it when I take Ibuprofin. Been that way for years.

I don't think so, but ringing in the ears is a common side affect of NSAIDs. Talk To your rheumy about it. Switching to a different NSAID or taking a brake from NSAIDs usually helps. I get this when I take naproxen. It most commonly occurs with anti inflammatory doses of aspirin, but all NSAID's can do this

I occasionally get ringing in my ears, but I've never connected it to RA, per se. Having said that, RA pain can cause stress which can cause clenching, which can cause TMJ, which can cause tinnitus.

February 28th started a constant high pitched ringing in my ears, it's driving me CRAZY. Geez, I thought RA was bad this is insane. I can't sleep, eat, concentrate. Not sleeping is going to hurt my RA. Saturday I had Enbrel shot, Sunday MTX dose and it started next day so I can't help wonder if it's connected and now I'm scared to take my medicine. Anybody ever have anything like this? Thanks, Sue

My husband had that symptom out of nowhere. They tested him for all kinds of autoimmune things and ear problems, MRI to look for a tumor...
Ended up he had Lyme Disease. A course of doxicyline (sp?) and he was OK

rastinks, did your husband have a diagnosis of RA first, then Lyme? I always hear the two are closely linked. Thanks

suera-no I have RA he doesn't. They did check his RF factor when they were testing for everything else. I think Lyme can mimic RA.
