OK, I'm fit to be tied. FINALLY got copies of my allergy test results..... brief review - got food allergy tests end of Dec after realizing through the paleo diet that MOST of my RA flares were brought on by trigger foods. Allergist refused to give me a copy of the results and said I still needed to eat many of the foods I had positives too....
So anyways, here's why I'm TOTALLY ticked off:
1. Doc said I wasn't allergic to milk - test results say I am mildly allergic to it.
2. Doc forgot to mention strong allergies to - cranberries, olives, cabbage, apricots, pineapple, ginger, squash, pistachios, pears
3. Doc said I was only mildly sensitive to celery, bell pepper - results show strong reaction.
4. Doc said I wasn't allergic to tomatoes, white potatoes - but results Show mild allergy.
Now I understand WHY I've been feeling RA achy this last week even though I was avoiding what she told me to avoid. It was because I was eating what the test results said to AVOID!!! Yes, pigging out on cranberries, pistachios, potatoes, salsa, dried apricots, and pears for breakfast! I was eating everything that inflames my body!!!
Never ever ever ever going back to crackpot. And gonna tell my GP all about my experience. She's part of his medical group.

Also, (white) potatoes, tomatoes, peppers (the vegetable, not the spice) and eggplant are nightshades which are notoriously inflammatory (especially for those who suffer RA), as is dairy. So, even if you aren't allergic, you might want to avoid those things to keep your flares in check and reduce your regular pain. It has helped me enormously!

Make a formal request for them as well as a copy of her notes and take it all elsewhere.
Yes most people think I'm a pain in the neck for checking up on everything myself-2scicrazed you demonstrate why.
Oh wait. I just double-checked. That's for the state of Michigan. But I bet your state has a similar law...
But perhaps the dr feels being "mildly" allergic isn't that serious enough to effect you"?

This is not nice but he sounds like a real idiot.
I'd say something to you PCP. That was negligent & I'd check the guidelines for copies of your record.
I ordered copies from a doctor & there were pages missing. Pages that contained important notes.
I do know every patient has the right to review their records. I also know a can keep their own notes separate from the ones in the patients charts.
I've heard stories that blew my mind.
These follow a patient & one doctors opinion can alter another's approach.

My fellow teachers have told me to file grievance on her stating I was NOT allergic at all to some of the positives.
I'd also file a complaint with the governor's office of consumer affairs or whoever handles such things in your state about charging $10/pg for records. As far as I know its a max of cents on the dollar for the first 20pgs etc. I thought that was Federal not necessarily by State. And once you know what they can charge by law, I'd be writing a letter asking for a refund for the overage attaching a copy of said law. But Google it just to make sure. Just wrong on every level. Jeez, even drs will get over when they can. Doesn't give me the warm fuzzies that's for sure. Ugh!
