I wish I could give you insight, but I don't have any. My guess is that this is part of a systemic disease process. Is it the RA? Does it mean my RA isn't really well controlled like I think it is? Does it mean my lupus is active again? I just got a Sjogren's diagnosis. I've been reading that Sjogren's can really be a systemic disease and not just an inconvenience. Is that what is going on?
My advice is to stay on top of it and be good to your liver. Watch for other symptoms and ask your Rheumatologist questions about what causes scarring? If you learn anything, please update your post. I will update too.
But 7 years later my new rheumatologist put me back on it. I've been a year, and mostly good. I have also had fatty liver when I was overweight from prednisone use and lack of activity. But now, apparently I am ok, even though I need to lose a lot of weight, after being on prednisone for almost 2 `1/2 years.
My last tests indicated I do not have fibrosis of the liver, or anything else permanent wrong. I"m just very sensitive to mthx.
I hope you find some answers. I also take Milk Thistle. It is expensive, but it seems to have worked. You can get it from a health food store. The liquid stuff is best.
the best to you all hugs
