Nights are a big problem for me also. I go back and forth from the sofa to my bed trying to find a comfortable spot. Pain that I think I deal with ok during the day are much more difficult at night. My ankles have been really painful this past week.
I bought a 3 inch memory foam topper for my bed and that helps with those fibro pressure point pains. Still there are to many nights that the pain prevents me from getting a restful sleep.

Memory foam is way too hot for me. I have a sleep number bed. I love that I can adjust the firmness as I want. I'm usually at 45. Buying it was a big decision and one that I do not regret.

Now, when it comes to pillows, I've owned one every type or pillow known to mankind. For the time being I'm trying the My Pillow that's been on tv. So far it's been pretty good. At least it doesn't make men worse.

I love my latex pillow. It's soft but resilient so it doesn't bottom out . I also have a latex topper. I just sink into memory foam, and I hate it, but latex is great and it doesn't make me warm. It is pricey, though. I still have problems with sleeping positions and pain at night, despite aleve, trazodone and a pain pill before sleeping. I can only sleep on my side because of my lower back, but it's given me bursitis on the sides of my hips. I also love heavy blankets on me, but need to sleep in a very cold room for that.

I just bought a tempur mattress. Soooooo wonderful. =) course it will take 2 years to pay for it, but no interest. Love my bed!

I'll have to read about the latex pillow.

Dreamchaser - is the temper mattress the kind that feels hot? or is it below the covering of the mattress?

How expensive are the number beds? I keep hearing good things but I always worry about spending money on something that relys on electricity. What happens when the electricity goes out? Do they deflate?

People with physical problems always seem to have the most problems at night because their body is relaxed and able to throw a tantrum more.Do you have an recliner to rest in by chance?

Hi bcatz, I'm in Texas it better not be hot. I bought the cloud. So far I am very happy. It's not hot at all. =)

i am in so much pain and pushing through it all the time that I use losing consciousness, sleep as a way to get the hell away from the pain. i pass out quick and if I don't move an inch and tape and splint everything I stay that way for a reasonable period before jolted. if i did not have that loss of consciousness I would give up, really. sleep is my pain medication. my pillow is a brick without it my neck would not stay neutral and I would not pass out.

Hi! I have a VERY difficult time with sleep. I set my bed up to be as fluffy as possible so it feels like a cloud and plenty of wonderful pillows. I also fall asleep easier either by reading a book and falling asleep to it or if thats not working that night then I turn off all the lights, get in bed, get comfy with duvet and pillows, lay down and in the silence I listen to my breathing. Something about just listening and focusing only on each breathe, puts me to sleep. I also suggest white noise like a fan, or white noise machine. I admit my sleep is so bad that I take medication to help me but it still doesn't work every night unless I do one of the things I listed above. I am new here, and I hope this helps!!! :-)

A couple nights ago I said to my hubby "Tell me a story. A story about what it's like to sleep well." I think that pretty much sums it up :)

I got a pillow that you fill with water to adjust its firmness (it has a fluffy part over top of the bag of water). It has de-fluffed so I need to add more water, but it's working pretty well.
