I am having a flare and am taking prednisone again. This time I have a bad headache. The prednisone is helping with the inflammation in my hips, knees, shoulders, but I don't know if I can stand the headache. I know some others on this site take a different steroid. What is your experience and what should I try for the headache?

Twyliah - when I started MTX I had a bit of a problem starting up and the doctor said Pred. Headache came shortly after so I called the rheumy and she said I could take no more than 2 Tylenol - I checked with the druggist that same day and he agreed.
Why don't you check with your druggist tonight and see if Tylenol will be OK, but not many (I think they said I could have not more than 3 in a 24 hour period, if memory serves)

I took extra strength tylenol
I also switched to Medrol instead of prednisone. I had other weird side effects I didn't care for. The one side effect of Medrol is insomnia, but I'd be awake from pain; pick your poison. Hope you get it all figured out. Trish
