pneumonia and flu shot

Yesterday I deciced to go ahead and get vaccinated. Today I feel awful. Running low grade fever and sore from head to toe. I don't think I'll do the same next year. But then who knows . At least I won't have to repeat the pneumonia shot for five years.

You are probably "just" having a vaccine reaction . . .
Last year, I developed a boil and while at the doctor's office, got a tetanus booster and pneumo vax. He wanted to give me the flu shot at the same time, but I declined three in one day.

Now, the flu shot normally kicks me for two or three days. This knocked me down for a week.

Though, when I did get the flu shot, it still only kicked me for two days. I won't do two at once again.

Tylenol can help ease symptoms of a vaccine reaction. NSAIDS (Ibuprofen, aleve, etc) should only be taken if the reaction is too severe, as they can interrupt the process of building immunity

I did not feel well after having the flu shot this year and felt as if I was going into an RA crisis. Took pain medication and headache medication and by morning I was okay to go to work. Hope you are feeling better real soon.

I had my flue and tetnus wooping cough shot and felt kinda icky the next day and man my arms were sore!!!

It took three days of torment . I finally feel better this morning. That was horrible. My arm is still swollen and hot to the touch.

ugh, feel better! i usually don't have a reaction to the flu shot (haven't ever gotten the pneumonia shot, but i'm thinking about getting it this year) except for an achy arm, but there's no telling if this might be the year - hope not!

I've been getting a flu shot regularly for about 5 years. I got sick for the first 2 years and I don't get sick anymore from it. My rheumatologist says it's very important for me to have the flu shot.
