Pain throughout the night

I don't really understand how I could feel little to no pain all day long and then as soon and I go to sleep, everything hits me. I wake up constantly in some sort of pain, usually my wrists, and today I woke up multiple times to my knee getting more and more swollen.

It's so frustrating and I wish I knew why flares happen in my sleep! Anyone else experience this?

Sorry about your pain. I do have pain during the day. Hands fingers toes you name it. Sometimes the pain seems to increase when I go to bed. Maybe because during the day I am working or busy so the pain goes in the back of my mind where when I am resting trying to fall asleep I have nothing else on my mind. It is frustrating for sure. Its not fair I know. Feel better I hope

I agree with racerunner. During the day I'm busy and not focused so much on my aches and pains. At night, even though completely exhaused, most things hurt. I don't get a full on flare, and usually the swelling does not increase over night. I hope you can get to the bottom of this, or if not, maybe learn some night time meditation techniques.

I think your kind of numb though out the day and other things on the mind, when bed time rolls around that is when you feel your day, I know, I go through the same thing, it's hard to adjust pacing yourself, I know a lot of the younger generation can't really pace things out and prayers go out to all of you. This is some disease to live with! On those restless nights I take Advil P.M. and sit up reading until the Advil starts working. Pray it gets better for you.

Some people say that Disneyland is the happiest place on earth, but I say it's my bed. I have one of those 2" memory foam pads on top of my mattress, and it is heavenly. My bed is the one place where I feel good and where the pain stops. However... sometimes I spend the night with my 16 year old granddaughter when her dad is out of town. Then I have to sleep in one of their beds. I never feel good in any of their beds. They all hurt me, they feel hard and bumpy and keep me tossing and turning in pain all night.

I might invest in one of those memory pads..

It's strange but the only beds I have ever found myself sleeping through the night in without pain are hotel beds. Need to get me one of those.

The flares I have at night are usually because I've been "still" in one position to long. That's IF I manage to get more than a couple hours sleep. You might also look at your medications, My Cymbalta seems to "wear off" by morning - that's when y pain is at it's worst. I have t take my Thyroxin first so that hour before I can take the Cymbalta and Nueronitin can be pretty rough. Anything like that?
