Pain on Palm side of finger joints.

Do you guys get this I guess I thought most pain was on the tops of nuckles but it hurts to even grip the steering wheel in the car my first joint on the palm side hurts realy bad normal?

I get it off and on. Actually that was the first symptom I ever had, years ago before anything else. It gets to where gripping smaller things, like a laundry basket handle or the handle of a fork, hurts too much.

I also get that too on my left side.when it flares I call my hand useless because I cant turn a page to read or hold anything.My symptoms first started when I had a strep infection that went into post-strep arthritis.I never even knew I had strep.It maybe did damage to this joint.But when i'm flaring with what i believe is RA,then this hand is useless to me.

Hi Kimberley97 - sorry you are having this as well as all the other "stuff"

'ole Bluedogs2 has the "can't grip the steering wheel" thing or anything else smaller than a grapefruit. Two hands to pick up and pour milk, etc.

Don't know if it's normal or not, but sure as little green apples, I share it with ya.

Yup. Those joints go from top to bottom. Driving hurts my knuckles on my palms too. Even a short 20 min drive.

Yes I get it.
Sometimes it feels like they are bruised.
My toes will have the same type pain.
Deep deep ache.

YES, unfortunately, it's "normal" at least for me....

It's one of the very few "NON-bilateral" pains I have though. Meaning it usually affects just one hand at a time; though It switches from left to right, with no obvious pattern or cause.

RA is weird....

i didnt notice this pain on the palm side, but my fingers and left wrist ache. i cant hold the steering with my left hand. i wear arthritis gloves 24/7 and they help. without my gloves, i cant do anything and my fingers are ouch.

if i try to hold the steering with my left hand i feel the pain in my left wrist, elbow(front side) and armpit. the pain goes from my fingers to my shoulder blades. i manage the steering with my right hand
