Humira was the only med that has worked for me so far. I didnt have much pain felt like i could do things and even forgot for a while i had RA. Yes side effects r scary but so is being in horrible pain every day...i cant live that way. Only side effect i had was upper respiratory tract infection and nose sores but i get that with all of the meds it seems. Good luck

Humira was the first biologic that I started with. My feet felt great on Humira. My hands did not do as well, and the Dr was not happy with the swelling, so I was changed to another drug. I didn't notice any side effects. I am now on my 6th biologic (Rituxan), this one feels like it is helping the most, but I can see there is still swelling in my hands and feet. At least I feel good. I go back at the end of January, will see what the blood works is, and get another infusion.

The Humira worked fine. I did not like the injector pen, but hubby was nice and did my injections. I did however have a reaction to the MTX while on it. I was getting pins and needles. So my neurologist too me off of that. Then went to Orencia and failed it. Also failed the Actemra. Now starting Cimzia and it seems promising. Hoping your Humira works great for you.

How long have you been on Orencia? It took me four months to get anywhere with it, and six months to feel decent.

Humira & Enbrel did nothing for me. I switched to Orencia and saw improvement. It's not 100% yet so I may start infusions this month. Overall, my first few months on Orencia did more for me than Humira and Enbrel combined.

Hi Connect2, I have been on Humira years ago and I felt like racerunner did I actually forgot I had RA. I was on it for about 8 months then I crashed and it stopped working and I had a bad flare and was unable to move for 5 days. I have since been on Remicade, Orencia 2 years which was the longest I have been on any biologic, Simponi which never worked for 8 months, Enbrel, and Rituxan which was the only biologic which I had reservations taking. I am now on Acterma and get the third dose next Thursday, but I wtill have break through pain especially if the weather is rainy or precip on the way or after a days work. Orencia did not work for me, either. In fact, I am convinced it made me worse (I developed weird lumps on various joints after the first injection).

Humira worked wonderfully for me for over a year, but then it stopped working when I pushed myself too hard (I felt so good, I started doing "normal" things). Now I am on Enbrel and it is also helping me a lot. Everyone's response to each drug is different. You will never know which one works for you if you don't try them. Good luck.

Humira worked wonders for me within the first few weeks. It caused serious acne and I stopped after a few months. I just had my first Orencia self-injection on Wednesday. I don't feel any relief yet but it is still very early. I may go back to Humira and see a dermatologist for the acne if I don't get any relief from Orencia.

Wow! It seems like it's almost unanimous that Humira seems to work well for only a limited amount of time like 6-12 months & then all of a sudden it just stops??

For all the commercial time it's had the past 2 years you would think it was the miracle drug for us RA sufferers?
