Let's face facts, here: we all know I'm a skeptic on dietary causes of RA, gluten-free faddism, etc. I still am, but I found this article fascinating.

The research was done by NIH, which is a trustworthy outfit. Interesting discussion potential about which are carts and which are horses here. I was up to 10 aspirin a day for months before seeing a rheumatologist (aspirin is NOT implicated in this study) and I'm sure many others were swallowing equal amounts of their favorite OTC NSAID.
A few weeks ago I was in line at the nearby food co-op, patiently waiting to pay for my Sunday newspapers. One of my favorite 18-year-olds came up behind me and proudly showed me the package of paper plates he was buying marked, you got it, Gluten Free!! We laughed so hard we almost got thrown out of the place.

forget the leaky gut, for me it is my liver enzymes.
NO nsaids anymore while being followed by the liver police, i mean liver doctor.
i am using a muscle relaxer if I i do not have to drive and it is bed time hours and I am in pain on the 5 to 10 side. or straight pain pill without any nsaid in it.
it's too bad, aleve used to be my pal. everything a price. and a price for everything.
so you are not going to consume the paper plates or what?

Then I was diagnosed with IBS and scarred esophagus. Became intolerant to a lot. Now my diagnosed food allergies either cause RA symptoms or IBS symptoms.
Ate everything and anything without the slightest heartburn until that super flare of '09.....
BTW those paper plates would probably provide a day's allowance of dietary fiber :)
Gluten-free paper plates was when I knew this had all gone over the edge. What's next, paleo cutlery?
