You were actually on a fairly low dose of methotrexate. I'd say you are going to have to re-up the drugs then after 4-6 months if you are fortunate to have them work again and want to reduce, reduce just one of the drugs by just a small amount like lower the methotrexate by 1 pill per week and wait two months to see if it was enough.
There isn't anything wrong with what you did, and it's great to get along with less. Hopefully you have caught this in time and can get it stabilized without going to a higher dose.
