I woke up today with pain in a new site... high up in the groin, but only on one side. I've had spinal Xrays which indicate mild osteo but this is the first sharp pain I've had in the groin. Does anyone else have the same symptom?

My rheumy told me that groin pain is a sign of RA in the hip.

Most definitely! My groin pain is caused from torn cartilage in my hip.

YES!!! It sucks! Mine is from the RA. It only hurts when I'm having a flare....which lately is alot!

Yes, those lovely groin pains on both sides were one of my first symptoms of RA.
So sorry you are dealing with that right now.

Yes. But only left side. Pain was constant in the hip and when it would worsen it would go down to my knee and around my back. It was my first pain but my Rheumy and Osteopath do not believe it is RA.
Osteopath says it is loose/stretched tendons that are allowing the hip bone and pelvic bone to slide out of place. Osteopath did adjustment and I have been fine. Mechanical versus joint. There is a procedure to fix it but it is expensive and painful so leaving it until the Osteopath can no longer adjust me back. I have been in a couple car accidents that affected my left leg as well as being 41.
Just a thought, worth a look if you have a good Osteopath near you.

Had that problem quite some time ago. Rhuemy said groin pain is a sign of hip pain.
