Normal Sed Rate but...

Sometimes blood tests make me angry. My Sed Rate is normal...but if that's the case, why is the pain still so bad? Hi RF Factor and high CCP test but normal sed rate GRRRRR. Sorry, just a rant

I am the same way. My GP first ordered blood work when I went to him with my symptoms and it came back with high RF but normal sed rates. He sad he didn't know how to interpret this so referred me to a rheumatologist. The rheumy did and exam and more blood work . My anti CCp was > 300 but my sed rates were still in the normal range.

He shrugged it off and said all it means is that he cannot use that test as a criteria to determine how my treatment was going.

Wow, thanks guys. It drives me crazy because sometimes, I feel like I have to prove how horrible I feel to my doctor, which isn't how it should be.

I have the same situation. Even though my tests all come back normal they still have diagnosed me with Rheumatoid arthritis.
