Off and on for the last week or so, it feels like I have a lump in my throat after I eat. no matter how much I swallow or drink, it stays. I have lots of burpiness as well. It doesn't matter if I eat a little, or eat a lot. Today has been the worst and most persistent episode.
Has anyone else experienced this? I'm not sure which doctor to call!

I have had something similar. Are you taking anything like Prilosec for this? I would start with primary care. I was diagnosed with acid reflux and a small hiatal hernia that gave me these symptoms. Prilosec helps, but sometimes that area gets irritated and has inflammation and it acts up a bit.

If you have a new symptom, it is always wise to consult your doctor.

I had a problem where food would get stuck in my esophigus and until I could actually upchuck, it was horrible. Well, one time I got a piece of chicken caught and ended up in the ER. They put the tube down my throat to clear it and also to stretch my esophagus. They told me I had a small hiatal hernia. So I take Nexium once a day. But do talk to your doctor. If I had talked to my doc, I probably wouldn't have ended up in the ER. Best of luck to you!

I'm pretty sure you can get a nodule there, but also you can have a thyroid issue. Please check it out. It could be something with your esophagus.

I was taking prevacid, for years. Then I was reading about the connection between reduced acid stomach environment and gut permeability and stopped taking it about 3 weeks ago. I've not had much in the way of acid reflux since stopping prevacid. I will follow up with my PCP just to make sure nothing funky is going on down there.

i hung out with the i can't say the specialty : ortho you know what ears nose and throat and flunked the acid wire down the throat test. i take the acid inhibitors.

I'm taking them today. I did a stupid thing and had indian for lunch.
Oh my god what was I thinking!!!!! It was so good but had almost every single food I've been avoiding. Now I remember why....

Went through my first exam with new dr.
He noted there was something there. Said maybe Thyroid but remembered after leaving I had thyroid checked out last yr.
also said could be scar tissue with past fusion.
Problems pop up swelling & choking, getting liquids down & deep pain. Not typical throat pain. Very hard to describe. Seems to bother me when I'm flaring or off treatment so assuming inflammation can't help the problem.
Have used acid reflux meds.
I guess it's a process of elimination.
All though if it persists we both should consider getting it checked out.
The thought of another dr or med makes me cringe.
