New Privacy Policy

I had an email from DS yesterday (again) inviting me to review their new privacy policy. Here's an excerpt:

" For example, many of our Services require you to sign up for a Sharecare Account. When you do, well ask for personal information, like your name, email address, telephone number or credit card. If you want to take full advantage of the sharing features we offer, we might also ask you to create a publicly visible Sharecare Profile, which may include your name and photo."

Don't know how anyone else feels about this. Personally, I have no intention of giving them my phone number or credit card! (Will they be asking for banking info, complete with SSN and PIN numbers, too?)

I don't understand.

I didn't see that. But I mostly ignore these letters. Hopefully this just applies to Sharecare and not the Forums. It would be sad if they wanted us to pay as too many people are sick, and can't work and don't have the money to pay for this service.

It is a service, there is no doubt about it. I guess we have to all decide how badly we need this service if they start charging money. I find it very weird that they even mentioned credit cards, if this is going to remain a free service. And no, they are not getting my phone number either. I had to lapse some email accounts I was using, because they wanted my phone number. Bad enough they can easily get my IP address, let alone a phone number or credit card!
