I'm not sure where the line is between PsA and AS. My current doctor says I have one with a side dish of the other, but I'm not sure which she thinks is most prominent. My SI joints are pretty trashed, but so are a bunch of others.
While most people have psoriasis of the skin first, others develop it after joint problems, and a few never show it. Involvement of fingernails or toenails is quite common, too- ridges, pitting, nails lifting away from the nail bed. Negative lab results are actually one of the diagnostic criteria for PsA..Here's a link to several different sets for PsA. CASPAR seems to be the current favorite.

I have to wonder how many seronegative RA-ers may actually have PsA. Treatments are pretty much the same, though, so as long as you are getting some sort of treatment, you're getting help, with or without a good diagnosis.
