I have used Actemra, but I gave myself weekly injections, not by infusion. It worked well for my feet, but hands were still complaining. Did not have any side effects.

Now I am on Rituxan, am having good success with that, so far.

Actemra was developed based on some of the success reported by Minocin users. They both target interleukin 6. So if Il6 is your problem - either one should help.

Wish they developed commercially available Interleukin specific tests. It would make it easier for our doctors to target our treatments so they are more effective early on. Sadly, these tests are only used in research studies.

Was on Actemra infusions once a month for 5 months - never felt better.. No pain, or swelling.. On Six month had a reaction while taking the Med, nurse stopped infusion and sent me home. Following month while into infusion 15 minutes another reaction - stopped meds and sent me home. Now I'm on Xeljanz 2 x day. But that's just me.. This will be the fourth med Rheumy has put me on.. Really sorry I couldn't tolerate it.. I Felt GREAT for 5 months - Lots of luck!!

My insurance denied to pay for the Actemra. I went online and signed up for the copay card and was approved, only have to pay $5.00. So just have to wait for my card to arrive in the mail. I hope this works, I really want to get off of the Prednisone.

the co-pays are usually contingent on having commercial insurance (not medicare) approved - they are approving you for a full pay of her drug with employer or private insurance denial?
