Not nerve issue, but I avoided ankle fusion surgery by having an AFO leg brace made for me by an orthopedist at a major hospital. He makes artificial limbs and all kinds of devices. I wore every day for TEN YEARS and the side-to-side ankle joins fused itself and I have full movement otherwise. It was WELL worth it!! Ankle fusion surgery would have meant no weight-bearing for months and then a permanent limp.
