I'm not particularly a germophobe, and one look at my house would confirm that. However, there's one thing that is making me nuts: when someone licks their finger repeatedly to turn pages or count money. A coworker just did this to a notebook in my office that I use all the time. I want to either go dunk the whole thing in Lysol, or go scream at her to never, ever do that again, ever ever ever. I quit shopping at one store because a clerk often did this counting out my change.
I've always thought this was pretty gross, but with methotrexate and Orencia coursing through my blood stream it makes me furious. Is there a polite way to broach this topic with someone?

at work it's the closed door staff meetings with heat that hose me.
during this whole chauffeur period, the kindest sweetest thing is when a good buddy showed up with a mask and gloves on. she was giving me a ride to the hospital and told me the heat was on in the car and she did not want to expose me to anything she might have been exposed to. she said she was not sick, just taking precautions for me. wow. that's better than flowers :). someone who gets it.

i think i'm with jen - just point out that you are very sensitive to germs and would appreciate if people use these instead of spit. maybe present it to everyone in the office like that, so you don't single this colleague out?
