I am so exhausted today I can hardly get out of bed. I am up to 6 mtx a week (my 2nd week at this dose) which I took yesterday morning. I got up today (I am still in pain by the way) and the fatigue overwhelmed me by about 9am. I was so shaky and tired. I went to bed for 3 hours, got up for 2 hours then went back to bed for 3 hours. I have been up about an hour now and everytime I stand up the exhaustion just overwhelms me. I haven't had a lot of RA fatigue up to this point so can anyone tell me is this RA fatigue or a side effect of the mtx?

It could be both, but my guess its the MTX. I feel the same way really fatigued ever since I went back on MTX. I get lots of side effects with MTX I honestly hate this medicine.

thanks Roni. I slept through the night and I think I feel a little better today but it's only 5:30 in the morning so only time will tell. Merry Christmas evryone.

Mtx kills me for 2 -3 days. I'm tired, my joints hurt worse, and have brain fog, on those days. So many people hardly have any side effects, I'm one of the ones that felt like death was at my door, every time I took them. I was up to 10, and using the injecting mtx.

I have to say , after taking them for years, I took myself off them a few months ago, and I feel super! I use my orencia alone, and it feels so much better, not adding the mtx.

I wouldn't recommend it though, if my doctor knew he would be really mad. He is a Nazi for mtx. I feel the best I have felt in years. The orencia is still working great. Alone!

Bless your heart, I hope you have better days ahead. I tried Mtx and couldnt take it, i am on Orencia and daypro with prednisone prn for flair, its working so far now, i pray you have a good Christmas .

Well I think the problems on Sunday were a result of the Mtx. I felt much better Monday and today. I will see how next weekend goes and I am looking into the study about caffeine and mtx and not to drink caffiene within 12 hours of mtx. I am also going to talk to my rheumy about it in January.

I was also exposed to the flu bug this weekend and don't know how much my immune system is compromised. I have started on some oregano oil and vitamin c hoping that will help boost my immune system. I cannot afford to be off work this week. Uggghhhh
