Good Monday Morning! It is 21 below zero here in northern Minnesota, and I recognize that I live in northern MN and therefore should be use to it but really, this winter has been awful! I am finally over my horrid cold, and was able to take my therapy dog to the nursing home on Saturday and that always makes me happy. The other thing that made me happy this weekend was that I took my first methotrexate injection, and I didn't have any significant side effects! No nausea, no diarrhea, just chills/hot flashes, which I got with the tablets, but they only last through the first night. It was amazing! I was really nervous about giving myself the injection, but it didn't hurt at all. The doctor said that if I get through a month without any major side effects she is going to up the amount, and hopefully we will see some improvement. If I didn't hurt so much I would be doing the happy dance! Now just hoping that as I take more of it, I won't see that darn diarrhea come back. On an unrelated note, we have both a hometown girl and a hometown boy playing on the USA hockey teams! It really makes watching the Olympics fun. Also, in my youth and young adult life I was a figure skater, while watching figure skating yesterday my husband said "It is hard to imagine you doing that, even though I have seen the pictures"; I told him that I was never as good as the Olympians, so I wasn't exactly doing what they do, but that in my dreams I still can skate and sometimes when I wake up, it is so disappointing to realize it was just a dream.
