MTX & Humira

Ive been on MTX 3 mos. in 2015. My doctor left group. Found another doctor who has me on MTX 2 months now also . He now wants to place me on Humira. Why do they keep you on both drugs? My AST & ALT were only off by 1 & 2 points. Do most of you remain on MTX and Humira for the duration? My husband was with me at my last doctor visit - - he was somewhat under the impression that I was to stop the MTX when I started the Humira. I differ.

Biologics (Humera) are supposed to work better when given with methotrexate. I have been on Humira, Enbrel, Orncia, Cimzia, Actemra, and now Rituxin. With all of them, I keep taking methotrexate.

Thank you for responding to my questions. It does stand to reason that methotrexate works as a catalyst. I hope your Rituxin works well for you. (:o)

Thank you Singer. All of the biologics I have been on have helped a great deal - either for my feet, OR for my hands, Not both, Rituxin has been the first one to help both feet AND hands equally. I hope the Humira works well for you!
