Okay just want to see is anyone else has had this. If I touch my tongue to my finger tips there is a sharp metallic taste. I have washed my hands a zillion times today to get ride of it and its not helping. The only "newish" drug I am on is a steroid, and I am at the 1 pill a day part of tapering off. This is just nutting me up. Anyone have any ideas?

metallic taste has always meant kidney issues for me - BUT - it makes everything taste metallic, not just my fingers (not that I gnaw on my fingers a lot, just saying, lol).

I think it's worthy of a doc call - do let us know if you figure it out!

Christine I'm on the west coast, it's not yet 10pm, you on the other hand and me Scarlett need to hit the sack,! I'll email my doc in the am; have never had kidney issues, but all the meds-better safe than sorry. Thanks for the response. Trish

i am sorry you have this taste. good that you decided to let your doc know about it and pls get tested asap. yes, better safe than sorry.

Funny metallic taste in my mouth was one of the first symptoms I had when all this started for me along with dry mouth, dry eyes, headache and neck pain. none of my docs ever came up with the why. Just questionable sjogrens do you have any other symptoms with it? Mine comes and goes and it's usually for me means a flare starting.

I too had the matallic taste in my mouth after being on steroids and starting methotrexate, my RA Dr upped my folic acid and it completely went away. Hope this helps!
