Meloxicam cream?

Does anyone use the Meloxicam cream? I was rxed Meloxicam pills from my GP when she dxed my Achilles tendon bursitis.... well went to my Rheumy today, and for the first time in 2 years my liver counts were high. So he wants me to try this cream saying that it doesn't go through the liver like the pills do, etc....
I am just sick about the numbers going up... I am feeling pretty good on my meds and don't want anything to change.... there are days, but for the most part am doing well.
I am off all Nsaids now and in a month we will see if the #'s go down like they have been.... if not he is cutting the dose of mtx to see if that helps.

So anyone use this cream before and how did it work? Oh and to be clear it isn't the Meloxicam that caused the change in liver test... blood work was done before even starting these pills.

I am on a compound cream that a compound pharmacy here in Texas creates from whatever the doctor orders and my rheumie ordered "CA Melo/Topi/Pril/Lido Compound Cream" and it has (Meloxicam/Topiramate/Lidocain/Prilocaine) for inflammation, dulling the nerve endings, and numbing medication. MY stomach was having a hard time digesting the Meloxicam so we do it up to 4 times a day with the cream. It helps some, not a great deal but enough for me to keep using it.

I hope u get some relief.

I'd lay a bet that it's the methotrexate, not the Mobic or any other Nsaids.
The crazy thing is that he has you reducing both so you won't know which it is! And a month is a long time to wait. Have they just crept some?

Good luck! Methotrexate, even after quitting, caused my liver enzymes to rise for about a month after I quit. Don't stress too much if they don't go down right off.

I haven't decreased the mtx yet.... waiting to see what the next blood work says first. They doubled from what they have been for the last 2 years... I guess I thought that if it has been good for so long that it was never gonna go up... guess that was wrong thinking.

Sistahbear... now that you have written the compound med... I think that is what he wants me on.... I knew there was more to it the meloxicam but just couldn't remember what it was.
