My bp is usually normal...however this week its veen 160/110. Dr said stop meloxicam. Well this am i wake up to the joint pain again. Its back. Is there some other pain med i could try? The nsaids all can cause high bp.

i'm 100 over 70 or lower with no blood pressure medication.

i use aleve about twice a week. or prescription naprosyn. mostly at work when I feel desperate.

The only problem I've had with any medication so far was Meloxicam - did a job on my stomach. This was before I started with Humira - at that time my doc replaced the Meloxicam with Prednisone.

I take meloxicam and was prescribed generic prilosec to be taken with it--no stomach issues.

I have been on meloxicam since Feb and my doc added a bp medication,, I guess tocounteract the basics. But on my first visit to rheumy my bp was sky high and I've always had low bp, he said pain brings on high bp. Sounds like you are in a Catch 22 position, maybe ask about a bp med so you don't have to live in pain. Trish
