Has anyone heard of Mefloquine being used off label for Arthritis or RA?
My Grandma's Rheumatologist prescribed it for her. She quit taking it rather quickly because it affected her eye sight.
She was sent to an eye specialist and has bleeding in her retinas due to the medication. They are hoping to restore about 40-60% of her vision in one of her eyes, but don't think that they can do anything about the other eye.
My dad called to warn me not to take this if it is prescribed for me.
I was just curious, as I have not seen this drug mentioned in any posts.

I am so sorry to hear about your grandmother - I hate to get information about a medication that has performed badly at someone else's expense.

It was a horrible thing to happen. It does give me motivation to get down to NC and visit. Something that I just don't do often enough.
