Good day~ my doc is switching me from Prednisone to Medrol. I'm experiencing headaches, jitters and insomnia with prednisone. Does anyone have experience with Medrol? Good or bad, it would be nice to hear your feedback. I've been in a major flare for almost two months. Ugh, it's hard to keep my spirits up. Boo...

I have taken Medrol injections for various reasons, none of which are a flare. I have taken them for allergies and for an infection. I have never had the side effects with it that I have experienced with prednisone. Well worth a try. Good luck!

I couldn't take prednisone because of weird side effects and my doc switched me to Medrol and I don't have problems. You still will get jumpy and have a bit of insomnia, especially when you are on the high dose at the beginning. I always feel like I could paint the house! All in all its been 1000% better for me. Hope this helps. Trish

I've never heard of Medrol before. I wonder if it has all the same side effects of Prednisone, like puffiness in the face, etc. Either way, if it might possibly help, it's worth a try.

I didn't even know there was something you could use instead of prednisone! I'm definitely looking into it! Good luck and keep us posted on how you do with it.

My previous Rheumy preferred Medrol over Prednisone and I took this medication for about five years.

My current Rheumy likes Prednisone so I switched from Medroll to Prednisone about a year ago.

I really didn't notice any changes.
