I can't remember if i seen it here somewhere but do any of you take Methox via pills or shots? Currently, my SO take Mx by pills and is considering to shots. those who are taking the shots, how are you feeling? does it help you? many of the things i've looked at are years and years ago. i am wondering how it is for youtoday.

They're also on something... Plaqunil or .. (i could never spell the name) and severely is causing a lot of upset stomachs. we're not sure if its the Mx or Plaq. what medicines are you taking and how are you combating the side effects?

Most people with RA take MTX. Some take pills, some shots. I've been on both. The shots bypass nausea.

Not everyone has side effects. You can get nausea from either Plaquenil or Methotrexate. So there is no way of telling which is causing your significant other's side effects unless he's been off one or the other for a while and the side effect goes away.

thank you Cal Lynn!! i appreciate your response. i have looked but i couldn't find what i was looking for. using the search tool leads me to answers of 5-6 YEARS ago. surely times have changed since then. I thought i'll just ask here and hope people could link any possible recent thread about this topic.

My rheumatologist said the new consensus in Canada, is that the pills are virtually useless when you are talking methotrexate. Plus, they destroyed my stomach! I just went back on mthx about 3 weeks ago, and it is already helping. Mind you, I was on it for 9 years, so likely my body "remembered" it? Plus, I only had a tiny bit of nausea the first shot, I remember being quite sick for abou 6-8 weeks the first time, but this time has been great.

Plaquenil I have been on twice. It did not hurt my stomach, but it didn't work at all, in the slightest bit either time. Waste of a drug, I always say! Just my opinion.

Marlene: you were on the pills for 9 years and how long were you off before you got back on? and you're now on mthx injections?
