If you are in some way rebeling against your mother then no, get your head together and do as your mom says.
------------------------------BUT-----------------------------------------
IF WHAT YOU SAY IS TRULY GOING ON and your mom is not getting you the medicine you need, then yes honey get help outside the home from a school councelor or maybe an aunt or uncle, grandparent, father. If as you say "my mother has some serious issues" it is none of our business what they are but if it is problems with drugs alcohol, etc. etc. or something major than getting outside help will not only help you but also help your mom in the long run. And someday she will thank you for saving your life and hers.
Unfortunetly, sometimes life is hard. sorry :(
andrea :)

good luck honey
I am so sorry for your situation. Please go see your doctor and see if they can give you some medication in the meantime and they might have information on other ways to get medication. Your medication is too important to wait this out. It sounds like you have your plate full let alone having to be in pain too. I hope you can get some help soon!
Oh dear, what a tough time you must be having. No family is perfect, but unfortunately some are way less perfect than others!
I would speak to your Doctor & ask them to assist you either by helping you get med's cheaper or contacting drug companies on your behalf.
Has there ever been a case worker involved with your mum or family? Maybe contacting them & asking for support for your mum & yourself could help. Sounds like you could do with some support too, possibly from counsellor if you are at a college or university. Here in Australia we have non-government organisations and welfare/charity groups who have psychologists that can be accessed at minimal cost - do you have anything like that in your area?
Pls let us know how you get on. Hopefully your mother will have a change of heart & not leave you & your RA so vulnerable.
Take care, Anna
Oh so your 18 or over. I thought you were like 12 or something. If you are 18 or older than NO she is NOT RESPONSIBLE. and a lot of health insurance providers will not cover a child 18 or over and if they caught her keeping you on it she could get in a lot of trouble. I am sorry but you are an adult and therefore TOTALLY responsible for yourself. YOU need to check into help with like a sliding scale doctor, or even disability benefits. Your mom can't do that for you because you are by law an adult so you need to sign papers and all that kind of stuff, they won't accept your mom filling out the forms and her signature. You seem a little angry and resentful with your mom. Having to be independant is what it is like to be an adult. there is also government health plans. Go to HRS and they will see what you make for money and see what you qualify for. Also talk to your doctor, and see if he agrees with you that you need to be on disability and not work. If he does he will sign papers for you so you are able to get on disability. I know life is hard sometimes and I am so sorry you are feeling this way and you have RA. Make sure you check into these things you could get a lot of help.
I wish you the best
Andrea :)
I am very sorry to hear what you are going through. Others have made some good suggestions about what to do regarding getting treatment for your RA. Most drug companies, especially the biologics are willing to give you the drug for a minimum or even for free. The best place to start is to call your doctor and get some suggestions. All this stress is not helping your RA, so try to be calm, as hard as that may be.
I will be praying for you sweetie. marcia
Good Luck
