Rheumatoid Arthritis Support Group
Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic, inflammatory, multisystem, autoimmune disorder. It is a disabling and painful condition which can lead to substantial loss of mobility due to pain and joint destruction. The disease is also systemic in that it often also affects many extra-articular tissues throughout the body including the skin, blood vessels, heart, lungs, and...
Another reason for this sudden weakness could be a drop in blood pressure. When your blood pressure drops suddenly your body thinks it needs to send all the blood to the brain and organs....which leaves your legs without. It could also explain the dizziness and nausea. Do you have blood pressure issues or are you taking blood pressure medications?
I'd definitely follow up with a doctor!

I went into the DINET site (Dysautonomia Information Network) and was overwhelmed with information which of course spurs my inquisitive nature about the global term "RA" and all that it brings forth. My question was aimed at if there are works of yours there, I would be pleased to read them there among those peers. Not being a medical person or trained as such, I will be doing a lot of back and forth reaching for understanding and how it relates to my conditions.
Again, just thinking I would read yours there first since you are in our "gang" if the term is allowable. Such a wonderful group of folks they are.
I appreciate your comments - just takes the old guy a while to digest and file

As a clinician, I think it would be irresponsible to start suggesting the numerous possibilities in a forum such as this. You really need to follow up with a neurologist.
Had a 31/2 hr meeting with Endo guy last week and he was as knowledgeable as any rheumy I have met thus far on minute details of RA action / reaction to both meds and environment. Gave him a copy of the case study from Johns Hopkins-
Sorry your group has somewhat dissolved, but you are welcome here to our gang. Such a wonderful group of folks.

Comes out of nowhere - I'll just be standing or walking and BOOM - if I don't have something to grab I go down for the count.
The dizziness and nausea sounds more like low blood pressure or even low blood sugar to me - I say this based on my own experience, since I deal with both regularly.
Get thee to a doctor and check it out, for sure! Best of luck, GrammyKat - sending you warm thoughts of support!
I hope you are doing better today. Sorry that this has befallen us all.
Peace to your heart tonight

Are there studies about INCREASED levels of estradiol in older male RA victims where other hormones are compromised or rendered ineffective even though the glandular activities indicate normal function ?
Am looking for specific studies that are less than 5 years old or active study groups currently engaged in double blind tests
2ndly - can B12 be over prescribed - Is there such a thing as too much B12 when taken as a direct supplement and not as a general OTC vitamin supplement
