Well as you all know I had a knee replacement 4 months ago. The breathing tube it turns out damaged my jaw bone. I went to my dentist at home about a month after surgery for the pain but he wound up giving me two root canals and a total of 3 rounds of antibiotics. So we left home to go on vaca. (My vaca' are never uneventful) lol. Anyway after being gone for a week the pain was unbearable. So I went to a dentist in Bismarck they referred me to an oral surgeon. She wound up removing one of the root candled teeth thinking it was infected. It wasn't. But she did remove a large piece of dead jaw bone with mushy bone underneath. And thus I have Acute Osteomylists of my jaw bone. A bone infection isn't that great! I've been on 2 weeks IV antibiotics and have to do at least 2 more. To top it off no RA meds in a long time and not for a whe still. Having pain but at least I'm here out west instead of humid AL. I'm stuck in Bozeman Mt. Beauty!

My goodness that would hurt.
How did they discover it was the bone? X-ray?
A lot to go through, root canal, extraction & bone.
Dry socket had me in tears that pain is something.
On vacation to top it off.
Let's keep our fingers crossed everything else stays under control for you.

when she extracted the tooth she explored the area and found the bone broken off my jaw. The weird thing is the dentist at home scraped the open wound that I had because it wasn't healing after 2 root canals and when he was doing that he used some little pliers and pulled out a piece of bone and he said huh that's strange. But he let it go instead of sending me to an oral surgeon. I'm not wired shut. It's just been very painful. It's better now after 2 weeks IV antibiotics but I still have 2 more weeks at least and then probably oral antibiotics so I have no idea when I can resume my RA meds. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.

Oh Kimberley, You just can't win. My God you have been through so much. You have the strength and determination of 17 bulls. Your husband and daughter must be your rock and strength. God bless them. Keep hanging in there, hold onto your faith and I hope good healing continues for you. I just cannot imagine what you are going through. You must be hurting all over, RA pain, jaw pain and knee pain oh my..

I have question relating to something you posted about last year or maybe even longer ago...the twitching.
Did you ever find out the cause of your twitching?

I'm having twitching in my calves (and really all over but they never quit in the calves). I see my rheumatologist in 2 days and I hope he has an answer because it's making me batty!
