I can totally relate. I will never hate Saturday's, but I came to be "disappointed" in Saturday's. My arava gives my intestines a heck of a time. So much bathroom emergencies I can not leave the house between 5 and 930 am. I take it once, 5 pills, Saturday mornings only. Trying to cut out the bathroom breaks, and it failed thus the bio and weaning from arava.
In the beginning arava left me almost puking as well as the bathroom breaks, breaks ALL week long, on day of administration...Saturday's. I puked one weekend. I also have arava fade by Friday, am in pain Saturday, take it Saturday, and feel somewhat better Sunday's. An all around sucky Saturday.
We keep the Shabbat, on Saturday. It's a happy day of holy rest. A joyous occasion. What a disappointment to feel so crappy and achy, not to mention pukey on the Special Day.
I came to dislike Saturday, but for me it was a spiritual letdown. Here's to hoping enbrel is all it's cracked up to be, and I can ditch the nauseating bathroom emergency 2-4 times a day med arava!
Yes, I reduced MTX down to 4 pills 1x/week once on a biologic. Still sleepy on MTX but less sleepy since dosage reduction. Better!
Hang in there.
RAinthewoods, you give me encouragement! I know it is not good to stop the MTX completely but a reduction would be nice.~Lori
