So. Wednesday i did my humira shot...i finally got over the virus i was fighting and i did it without needing an antibiotic! Yay me...that is like...so huge. In the last 15 years I have always ended up on an antibiotic to fight an illness...generally viral would turn bacterial >.>
it has cuased problems with that i cant use the same antibiotic twice in a row or sometimes even twice...it doesnt work..but anyways.

I did my Humira Wednesday. So...i wake up thrusday morning with a small fist size red mark where my mom injected the humira...It..hurt...it itched...
I know that it is a common reaction to have a site area reaction. It happens..but I know that with my track record that it could easy turn into an allergic reaction...but i feel like a new woman on the humira. I can...do a lot more since i've started it.
I dont want to have to change to a new medication. I know with time i will have to.
I want to not ever get to the need for an IV type medication..but i know it will get there. Its the course that this illness goes.
Its frustrating.
I'm also in pain...my joints...my stomach(post gallbladder removal pain from 3.5 years ago). I cant take anything stronger than Tylenol and that doesnt even touch it. I'm allergic to vicodin and percocet. I have morphine tabs but they dont work well...and can at times make the pain worse but i sleep...oh do i sleep.
To give an example of how quickly i can become allergic to a medication. Vicodin was a fun one to find out i was allergic to. I had in 9th grade managed to second degree burn my hand. It hurt...so the ER sent me home with a 3 week supply of Vicodin..as burns take a long time to heal and are extremely painful. I took the vics fine for a week. And then suddenly i woke up and my face was swollen and hives were starting to form on my body...the most uncommon form of reaction with the medication according to my pcp...and the next time i take vicodin i could end up in anaphalytic shock...
it doesnt take much.
I want to kick something in the shin...repeatedly...can i do that to my immune system? maybe then it will whip up into shape? :D

Keep the faith and enjoy it while you can. Maybe some benedryl with your injection will lessen your reaction? Just a thought.
